There are different sorts of trips, destinations, and ways of traveling. But when all is said and done, and in the inevitable hindsight of every experience, this trip for us was, first of all, the desire to bring ourselves face to face with the meaning of life and to accept the hardships, to enjoy the moments of exhilaration, to seize the moment to a maximum, to experience something new, new places, life styles, landscapes, groups, cultures.
During the trip, everything seems as if seen, heard, smelled, or touched for the very first time. This trip was a search for direction that deeply transformed us. It was liberation in contrast to the burdens of sedentary life, and perhaps was unconsciously the reason for our departure that evening in March 15, 2002. We, we headed full east. Did we really know why? We still do not think so. And back then the answer to that question was that every morning we tried to be the first ones to see the sun rising…
